Dr. Hassan Awada has a degree in medicine and has trained as a clinical post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Hematology and Oncology Research at Taussig Cancer Institute of Cleveland Clinic. As an Undergraduate, he obtained his Bachelor of Science, in the field of biological science. He is currently a resident physician in the internal medicine residency program at the Cleveland Clinic. He has also presented various seminars, posters and papers at national conferences and conventions including the American Society of Hematology, Society of Hematologic Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has published many articles with its main area of interest being bone marrow failure syndromes, particularly acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, large granular lymphocytic leukemia, aplastic anemia and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria. His research work mainly focuses on the molecular pathogenesis of these disorders and deals with various aspects of stem cell biology, genetics, cytogenetics and immunobiology. Due to his field expertise, many journals have invited him to provide them with review articles.
Dr. Hassan Awada's is interested area of research is focused on molecular pathogenesis and epigenetics in myeloid malignancies.
