Dr. Shigong Guo qualified in medicine from the University of Bristol and is currently a Specialty Registrar in Rehabilitation Medicine at the Oxford Centre of Enablement, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and Oxford, UK.
After graduation, he undertook core surgical training in Bristol (Severn) Deanery where he was nominated for Core Surgical Trainee of the Year 2010/11.During this time, he also obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) of Edinburgh and underwent postgraduate research training in biomechanics at Cardiff University, for which he was awarded a MSc (with Merit) in Orthopaedic Engineering.
He then undertook higher surgical training in trauma & orthopaedic surgery on the Northwest London rotation including the Major Trauma Centre at St Mary’s Hospital, London.
He has also published widely in peer reviewed journals both in orthopaedic clinical practice and research. In recognition of his clinical and academic achievements, he was awarded a European Congress Grant (€1000) by the European Society of Trauma & Emergency Surgery in 2015.
As a result of his clinical and academic training, he has a keen interest the biomechanical aspects of orthopaedics and musculoskeletal trauma and its effects in clinical practice and rehabilitation.
